If you enjoy singing, why not join us? We are very friendly!
‘Part’ voices (second soprano, alto, tenor, bass) are particularly welcome. It helps if you can read music but you won’t be expected to sight-read.
The choir rehearses in St. Clement’s Church, Church Road, Dartmouth TQ6 9SN, on Wednesday evenings from 7–9pm. Tea or coffee is available during the rehearsal break.
We are a two-term choir (September to December; January to March/April). Our fees are £48 per term and there are no additional fees for music hire except that singers taking part in the Christmas concerts need their own copy of the Oxford 100 Carols for Choirs. We can usually get this for you at a discounted rate.
Come along and try us out for a couple of weeks, with no obligation to join. After this initial period, you can decide whether we are the choir for you.
Britannia Choral Society is proud to be a non-auditioned choir. However, it is important that the Musical Director has the flexibility to place singers where they will get the most from their voice. New singers may be invited to take a quick, informal range check at a rehearsal. High sopranos will be checked up to a top B♭.
